Parquet Courts

Who They Are

Parquet Courts (alternately Parkay Quarts), comprised of vocalist/guitarist Andrew Savage, vocalist/guitarist Austin Brown, bassist Sean Yeaton, and drummer Max Savage, are a post-punk quartet hailing from Brooklyn.

Why You Should Listen

With a brilliantly diversified sound, Parquet Courts are one of the most innovative groups in modern music. From experimental noise rock ("Elegy of Colonial Suffering") to deeply personal introspection ("Death Will Bring Change") to quirky parody rock ("Master of My Craft") and everything in between, these guys have literally checked all the boxes in the garage-rock spectrum, but in the best way possible. Pulling from a wide array of influences, they push the boundaries of post-punk while maintaining the ever-important DIY punk ethos.

What You Should Listen To

Literally everything. Their entire discography will keep you on your toes. Standout albums include their latest release, Wide Awake!, and their sophomore effort, Sunbathing Animal
